Clinical Pharmacist Advisor

What you will be doing:

As a Clinical Pharmacist Advisor, you will pair your clinical expertise with evidence to formulate and deliver actionable recommendations for value-based drug use in health systems. You will develop a new, comprehensive perspective on pharmaceutical spend and utilization trends and combine this with Lumere’s clinical expertise to advise health system leadership on opportunities to save on drug costs and improve patient outcomes.

The successful candidate will be an experienced clinical pharmacist looking to broaden their impact by serving as an expert on medication use initiatives across multiple health systems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Be the go-to expert in health system pharmaceutical spend strategy and medication use; use pharmacist industry expertise to build a knowledge base of market trends, medication utilization management, vendor landscape, and reimbursement and billing issues
  • Stay current on Lumere’s latest clinical evidence reviews and recommendations
  • Use clinical pharmacy knowledge to engage with pharmacist clients in informed discussions (e.g., scope of work, content deliveries, gathering feedback)
  • Apply basic pharmacoeconomic analytic principles to clinical and financial data to inform value-based decisions
  • Combine quantitative analysis and clinical evidence to tailor and present actionable strategies for health system leadership (Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committees) to reduce costs and improve outcomes
  • Serve as thought leader for clients by providing clinical perspective and actionable recommendations on topics related to medication use and change management
  • Support Pharmacy solutions product development and research prioritization by providing clinical input and communicating feedback from clients


  • Active pharmacist licensure
  • Residency training preferred
  • Previous hospital or health-system based participation in Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Committees
  • 3+ years experience in drug information or other clinical specialist or clinical manager role
  • Prior experience in formulary optimization or implementing clinical protocols
  • Excellent project management skills, including attention to detail, ability to independently prioritize work, and collaborating across multiple teams
  • Experience in presenting to senior audiences, including ability to develop and deliver presentations with minimal guidance
  • Ability to quickly identify underlying drivers of problems, quickly develop hypotheses, and execute on a path to solve
